haha okay day la.
church was a lil quiet today, cause quite a lot of the china students went to another church to witness their friend being baptized. but yuan brought her classmate jolyon. unique name haha. anyway wierd's spelt as E L E E N from now on hahah. great lunch! and we sang the hymn that was actually used as the ndp song i marched in to last yr hah.
then met up with py janey batty and naviros for sushi.... haha. what's wrong with meeting up often? =)
book in lo... looking forward to wed's lil fellowship with the camp guys if there isnt night out... night out on wed i'll go prayer meet lo ahha. and the china students bible study class on friday! =)

okay my com's not up to COH standard. like duh. haha yes navi, next time haha. whatever la ah, FallenAngel ha. keep your eyes and ears open lor. rmb our deal next sunday when charmaine's back ah hah. and yes GE runs on my com! yay! but i cant run any other stuff in the meantime, like itunes and bitcomet...
right. just back from possibly the best week i ever had.
well monday i booked out quite late. when i reached home the bbq was prob ald starting.

tuesday
met up with james aka jerry, weiwu-lah, eleen and her bear forgotwhatname, meiling for macs breakfast. darn, ezlink card failed me. no points.... haha. end up chalet one was the exact same one i had for a scout retreat a gazillion years ago. same shell different occupent. stuff parables are made of. ice breakers... there was really quite a lot of ice to be broken, cause we dont really know the chinese nationals well and vice versa... even linking names to faces was hard. so yeah double wacko was quite appropriate for the situation. trust marcus to pull off the forfeit with style haha well done la!
afternoon it's dumpling making and israel folk dancing haha. cant say i really see a lot of links between the two ha. well chinese tradition states that we make dumplings now is to commemorate QuYuan, this govt official back in ancient china, and the way he died out of the love for his country and for his people... somebody giving up his life to his people out of his love for them? hey doesn't that sound familiar hah. yea so thru this whole 端午节 affair we're reminded of the love our Lord Jesus Christ have for all of us. he didnt stop at one country though; his love was much much more than that. so i guess because of that we only rmb QuYuan for only one day per year haha. and we keep our Lord close to our hearts everyday. the folk dance was fun. mindless fun. but tiring tho. cause there were lack of guys so we went twice wah.
then after dinner we sat down to discuss our skit that we had to put up. david vs goliath. there were a lot of wacky ideas floating around. so for now we just familiarised oursleves with the story then started a lil on the script...
wednesday
cant say i slept very well; it was so cold! reminded me of my first night in 新辉小学 haha. all thanks to our spoilt remote hah. jiajun's response to not being able to see the number on the remote was:

wahh buay tahan. never mind. when everybody went off to cycle in ubin grpC stayed back to cook lunch haha. darius and i got started first, chopping stuff up... haha whacking chicken wings with a cleaver is shiok la ha. then we learned a lot of stuff from the china frens. yar cause they'd cook for themselves not like us hah. after lunch it was rehearsals for our skit. haha you cant imagine the kinda props we thought of using lor. used pot covers as shields and helmets. no sheep for the "flashback" scene so we had to make do with xhui's kangaroo. cant possibly really throw a stone so we used bean bags. and everything's so funny la. from how shengwei managed to string up a song to the tune of 对面的女孩看过来 to the flashback scene with xhui as the younger david and shengwei as a lion to darius' wierd chinese pronounciation. well it was after dinner when it was time to put it up, and nothing much went wrong, cept that the lion anyhow jumped then knocked into king saul ie. yours truly. the other grps were very funny as well, and the atmosphere was very high hahah. prob the chocolate going around had a part to play in that hah.
thursday
yay thank God we slept much better compared to wednesday. after hearing jingx2 sharing with us how she walked to the beach for devotion time early in the morning and how great it was, weiwu and i went to try it out. walked down to the beach and turned right, cause there was people at the jetty area just outside the girls' builing. walked and walked until we reached a pavilion that was quiet. okay so sat down and i looked through the lil booklet, read thru the passages and thought about what they really meant to convey. the only blemish was the amount of flies in that darn pavilion. truth be told, the bible lands virtual tour was a lil dry. but still thru it we learnt bout the backgrounds of the various accounts in the Bible, and from it understand those accounts better.
after dinner, we screened a documentary "the Cross in china". very touching. it was full of testimonies of pple, who shared how their lives were transformed when they opened up their hearts and accepted Jesus. so so many life stories. that and the subsequent sharing were very meaningful. actually i cant really put all these in words. yeah so after the movie was over we split into grps, and we shared about how our own lives were transformed. yeah so it isnt something that you see in a movie, it really does happen, it works for me, and surely it'll work for you, if only you'd put your faith in Him.
so sorry to everyone else, grpC kept them all waiting haha. after a bigger sharing was done the aduts left, and we stayed to play dumb games haha. did the folk dance learnt earlier, all the guys became girls haha. and there was 还珠格格 and musical chairs. and a lot of picture taking and watermelons hah.
walked the girls back to their building with robert, and ended up staying there for far longer than we intended. sat down at the dining table for coffee, and talking to all the pple who drifted in and out of the room. and praying for our china friends who are still non-believers. some close, some not-so-close, but at least they still putting in the effort to come for camp, listen to us, and go for service and bible study sessions and all that. very glad to see that we were quite fired up to do His work and spread His Word after all that sharing that night.
so robert and i stayed up to think of verses to give to shengwei and vicki. after a long long time of flipping over our bibles and trying out verses on each other we decided on hebrews 13:6 for vicki and matthew 7:7-8 and jeremiah 29:11-13 for shengwei.
so we say with confidence, "the Lord is my helper, i will not be afraid. what can man do to me?" -herbrews13:6

well well finally have time to sit in front of my com with itunes playing and a can of jiajialiangteh around to blog about this long weekend hah... with COH demo and GE client part 1 downloading at the background...
so much for saying i was going to catch up on reading on friday. i even listed the mountains of stuff that i had to read to ber on thur night lar. woke up late in the morning. no mood to read yet mah, just woke up hah, so play a lil maple. then was settling down to read with a bag of ruffles bbq chips when xhui sms-ed...
so went down to church office at around 1400... their family was shifting house and there were a lot of junk flying around... tough job, i must say. there were some stuff they were going to give to the church i think, and some they're just putting it there, or whatever haah didnt bother. but anyway 65 tessensohn road looked like a war zone. so robert and i sorted everything out and packed stuff... while talking crap and joking about almost everything... and yeah laughing at xhui's chinese =X i'm sorry sister. lichuang was supposed to come but ended up flying us aeroplane, what go and eat lunch with frens... HAIYO. anyway i thought i was good with foosball, bullying robert into a 10-nil defeat when it was his 1st time playing. retribution was coming... hah it came yeah but that's for ltr.
after parting ways with robert on the train went to the kam's hse... haha 大哥's back! nice to see him after quite awhile yeah. i'm still chionging orochi musou... dunno how to unlock 吕布... so i'm still trying... hah. but 凌统 and 左慈 are still my fav characters haha shiok man! spend the night there as usual then went home in the morning.
met up with the a2 bunch, cause supposedly py's going to pass us her souvinirs that she got for us from her europe trip, but we didnt realise she forgot to bring them until much later haha. WHO'S THAT GUY!! muahahha. silly me, didnt realise mind's cafe only opens at 1400. so went opp for lunch in TCC. decent linguine bah. when the food came i closed my eyes to give thanks. then raised my head to see incredulous looks from the guys.

i admit i was quite affected. and lost for words. how do i say why i do what i do when i know he wont get the point?
well anyway mind's cafe was a blast hahaha. warmed up with taboo, then there's this board game where you're supposed to build train tracks then link up certain destinations... cant rmb the name.... it was very good! well i won the 2nd round so... =P
after that walked around, cause py has this show's she going to watch at the nationa museum... wow. brought us to this jap place in raffles place basement. haha my love for unagi continues... but oh the smell when you walk past soup spoon... i still prefer it the way it was before it renovated; in a corner, it's got a more cosy, homely feel to it... this new layout's too sleek for that ald. like too modern. i mean hey it's soup you're selling lar. cant pple take their time to enjoy their bowl and in the process laze the whole afternoon or evening away... hah.
after py's gone for her show it's us 3 castle koppies again haha... went to cathay. seriously tempted to become an audiophile after looking at naviros' earphones, and walking in the creative shop while we were still at marina, and now walking in the newly opened gramophone... nice...! there was this cheapo-looking thing hooked on a 2ndgen nano (garrrr) on display. the song playing, U2's vertigo. wow! you really hear things that you dont hear on normal ipod earphones. sigh. anyway, went to emax. thought i could get them started on company of heroes (i still think it's the best game on earth ever invented) but those 2 buggers got me started on GE. just like how they got me started on maple oh-so-long-ago. hahaha.... that's why i'm downloading it now...
well today. very bad flu. the message today was delivered by ps biqing... 牧师 taking father's day break ah hahah. or maybe because marcus isnt here so no chemistry haha. dunno lar. then in sunday sch there was this verse that had me thinking, maybe on a more literal path than the rest of the class:

of course the learning point for the class was about the spiritual warfare that's very real. but i guess it applies as well when the war in question is fought physically, either with swords, like joshua against the amalakites in the book of exodus, or with m16a2s and fh88s, that probably wont happen but you never know.
talking about foosball... the ho brothers are so darn good, and it's no wonder when you think back and rmb that well, that table came from their hse in the first place. and yes eleen's middle name's "bimbo". david's so botak for judo's sake la haha. cant wait to get enlisted right.
church camp coming...! ahah. hope nothing last min crops up in camp tml. now that jiajun wont be around during working hrs during the camp i'm the designated tech guy... haha. i know what to do la. i think. heh.
well i guess i'll really go catch up on reading while waiting for my downloads hah.

LOL.

a2: laugh all you want at my singing haha. now you know why i'll give it a shot only when in a choir and not doing it solo haha.

yay at home on thurday! clearing off tml. and clearing leave next week hah. bo pian monday gotta go back to draw pager and do all the admin for going on standby. yes, the magical 4NTM again. camp life didnt get any better. that lian hua and his sect's at it again. but thanks to God's mercies He's shown me some friends in camp that i can at least lean on when i need some backup. =) especially the GAs! really really very thankful to them, for no other particular reason other than just being there. so yeah.
what an emo post this is turning out to be haha.

big headache in the morning when i woke up. but at least i woke up hah.
went to church. seemed emptier as usual. could have blamed the sch hols. ironic right, pple get busier during holidays haha. well at least they get holidays. message today, "the guarding levites". weiwu and i started crapping about security agents acting as cleaners... with weapons hidden in their rubbish carts... hah. sunday sch touched on hope, duty, and prayer. as the scout promise goes "to do my duty to God..." so yeah it's impt to walk down the path laid down for you with faith. then hymn singing class. shimu says my voice's on the high side?! haha just try lo. but i'm really really tone deaf gah... hope jiajun's right and this tone-deafness will go away with more practice haha...
then went to play dota! the "wtf" mode is really insane haha... david's real good..so is weiwu with his bone fletch... daniu's okay okay... lejun's just all talk haha... and i love it when i see marcus in my lane haah "FIRST BLOOD!"

suddenly realise i'm blogging quite hardcore-ly nowadays (if there ever was such a word haha) and that this bunch of a2 pple namely batty janey py naviros and fallenangel are all like talking cock on each other's blogs all the time lar haha... it's wonderful how we're keeping touch like that in our own lil way so yeah keep it up guys =)
match... well... lost again... check lhfc webpage for details. altho we're always losing but that doesn't mean i dont enjoy meeting up with the guys and playing some decent football together. haha the last time i checked our team motto was "for the passion and friendships" not "for the goals and victories" so yeah =)
well last "official" ypf meeting for me today, altho i guess i'll still gatecrash it once in a while haha. gotta brainstorm for icebreakers.... 2 hrs worth of it man.!
went off to watch shrek 3. caught a cold in the process... thanks... haha. yeah bad sequel generally. quite obvious it's a money-squishing tool from the movie company lor haha.... think of the sugar cane uncle squeezing that same stick of sugar cane thru the machine the 3rd time and you'll see what i mean. weak plot and all that. but at least there's the donkey and puss-in-boots to salvage the movie haha... nice use of songs too hah like the scene of the frog king's funeral... and the 1st song of the credits hah.

to all those who remembered and bothered on monday, thanks yet again. =)
xhui: ehhh what "expert" hahah there's still alot of things that i need to learn from you, miss ho! wahaha. =D
camp sucked. some guy by the name of "lotus flower" tried to pick a fight when we were going out for battalion ex. if i gave him what he wanted it would be conceding to him right. so now i just cant be bothered with being nice to everybody already loh. at least this week let me see clearly who are my real friends and can be trusted. thanks, you know who you are. =)
scout law number 3 says "a scout makes friends, establishes, and maintains harmonious relations." i guess i cant really keep that in camp ald. but i'll still try lar.
anyway battalion ex didnt go too bad. despite tensions and jibes and the occasional insults we still worked as a detachment and met our timings. on duty that night in simpang's not mosquitoes but sandflies.... itchy itchy. nice view of the night sky sleeping under the camo net though.

haha service today, then after that there was lesson at skylab (chey not much aircon haha. had potong!), then there was this debate among the better-at-chinese bunch, "singlehood vs marriage"... was very funny, some gems of wisdom managed to trickle out of it as well... well if it happens, it happens. trust in the Lord and what he has in store for you lor.

yay so we warmly welcome nani, anderson, and owen hargreaves to the red devils family... torres, are you next? LOL.
soccer this morning... nothing special lar. but it's VERY HOT. made a few decent saves, nothing fantastic... scored only one goal, and that's also because of a poor touch to control the ball and it just went past victor.... lol...
then narnia was screened at fellowship... nice. but i still think reading a novel always beats watching the movie haha. and having read cs lewis' biography and having read a lil deeper into his works and narnia in particular, it's not that hard to spot the very obvious parallels that he puts in place in the story... in the biography there's this fan mail that caught my eye. an american mother wrote in and said that her son loved Aslan. to the point that he feared that he'll love Aslan more than he loves Jesus. and that caused him some mixed emotions lar. so lewis wrote in his reply (loosely quoted, i dont have photogenic memory sorry...) : " as long as he sees that Aslan is only but a representation if Jesus, and that Aslan died for edmund, but Jesus died for you and your son personally, help him understand that Jesus is in fact, in this case, as though his own Aslan. i apologise for any confusions my writings may have caused in your dear boy."

went mel's hse. wow. i dunno why the topic's set as such but it's nice to know that with unbelievers around there's mel and janey to help me not say the wrong things hahaha. mel provided anecdotes about lil things that happened to her, like her fren calling her from france at 3am our time, to prove the point that there's more to this world to things that happen on us than mere coincidences la.
to illustrate this point, there's this very old joke about this guy trapped on the roof of his house when his town was whacked by a flood... being very devout, he prayed earnestly to God to rescue him.
after a while, his neighbour rowed over on his sampan. "hey, hop on!" "no, i'm waiting for my Lord to come save me." and so his neighbour rowed away.
then the local police came in a power boat. again, he refused to get on.
then there was the navy vessel, and the coast guard helicopter, and yet he still refused.
in the end in drowned. when he was at the pearly gates he saw God and asked "why didnt you save me?"
"wahh i send the sampan, the police power boat, the navy vessel, and the helicopter already lar, what more do you expect???"
moral of the story: it's not the big grand things that people associate with religions all the time, but it's the small lil things that remind you that God's grace is always around... i think we can count today's gathering of us bunch of friends sharing a meal together and talking and sharing ideas and listening to mel read scripture IN CHINESE as one of such small lil things that cheers us up and leave us comforted la haha. cant wait for the next one alr. why so few people....! haha.

i realise i've got this nasty habit nowadays of drumming on an imaginary drum set when i'm plugged in to my ipod... LOL.

well well today. woke up at 1030 when the movie was supposed to have started at 1000... the movie i'm talking about is pirates 3... and the reason why i didnt just give up and fall back to sleep is because it's a battalion event... wasnt too bad lar. hopped on to a cab after a very very long wait (i walked all the way from my hse to compass point all the time looking for a cab, then i waited somemore in the queue at the taxi stand...) i reached to see cho yun fatt die in his cabin. which meant i missed his "welcome to singapore".... lol no loss haha.
then went to bugis to burn away time and money, before we went for steamboat at marina, which is again burning away time and money...
tml play soccer then go fellowship (watching narnia!) then go mel's hse yay haha...
