decided one camp's enough, looks like i'm going to give the FASS camp a miss.
the old jerry would have jumped into it without a moment's hesitation, but well just now when weiwu yuan and i are looking at the video... nah. not our kinda thing.
but the sheares hall one, alr paid up so i HAVE to go in a sense. hah. dawned on me that i havent really given much thought to what God wants out of me when i'm in uni, and whether staying in hall and which one to stay in is something that i sort-of decided myself unilaterally. i'd need to learn to trust God on everything and ask for His will in whatever i do, i guess. well thank God that sheares is comparatively cleaner in terms of culture, but yeah as army's stay-in life has taught, temptations abound everywhere and thus no matter where i am, i've got to be still on my guard and "on the ball" every moment.
i can demand nothing lesser out of myself, if i am to deny myself and carry up my Cross everyday.

"prayer requests [as requested by readers]
1. for strength. andrea, bonnie and i all agree that its really tiring to interact with people.we have too spend most of our energy just trying to listen to them properly. we know that it is as difficult for them to speak with whatever english they have too. the rest of the energy is spent trying to not space out too obvously when the conversation is in japanese [means dawn is the only one stressing out].
2. for communication. singaporeans speak very differently compared to them - speed, articulation, expressions. its been difficult [esp for me!] to slow down to ensure that the person/people understands us. at the same time, most of us have the habit of mumbling, making it difficult for non-singaporean speakers to get what we are saying. we try our best but sometimes lapse into our usual manner of speaking.
3. for renewed purpose. i think we have reached the stage when its easy to just do all the things that has been planned for us. so pray that through our team devotions, personal QT that we’ll always be reminded of what we are in japan for.
4. unity of the team. thank God that we havent seriously injured each other yet (: pray that even as we work hard together that we’ll still have fun. and not forgetting our bonnie who is in singapore. hehs"
just a personal reminder. and for pple who knows jane too of course.

i'm very very well known in my workplace for being very emo, so it stunned them that i can actually be even more emo-er today lahh. (if there ever was such a word haha)
still prodding around inside my head for the reason, the source, of this emo-ness. or most likely i've alr known the answer all along, but still lying to myself that i dont. well whatever happens i'm just going to (as shawn says) "go with the flow" but i know that this "flow" isnt the random one that shawn's talking about, but rather, God is watching over me and leading me through and if i just let Him, He'd hold my hand and bring me through all this nonsense that's going on in my head now and emerge stronger and a much better person that i can serve Him better. =)
very glad that i could have the chance to send brother willy off at the airport last night. the list of pple being overseas is like long, man! but still not long enough to not keep them all in prayer. =)

i'm at work early, cool.
lil episode that happened at prayer meeting ytd, i'm blogging this now moe because i want this to serve as a reminder to myself, rather than share with you pple whatever mistakes i've made haha.
just when we were leaving after prayer meet, three indians from their prayer centre came over and knocked on the door; wenling first opened the door, and she did the right thing by going off to look for mushi. but me, being the busybody that i am, went to the door to see what was going on.
turns out that they're going to have a blood donation drive, and thus they had forms for us and asked that they leave their forms here, so that we can encourage pple to go for the blood donation. according to their understanding, christians do good works too, and thus we could perhaps be part of their activity. naively i took the forms and said yeah we'd leave the forms there.
mushi came out when they had alr left, and well i did deserve the bullocking that i got. christians do good works not for ourselves, and certainly not for an event that's held in honour of another god, but we do it only because we want to honour our Lord Jesus, letting pple see Him in us, and doing it out of a heart of gratitude, in view of His sacrifice on the cross for us.
salvation by grace, not by works. i guess this line would hold a lil bit more illumination for me from now on.

nah not going to blog bout the trip tokota tinggi as a whole (at least not yet) but i want to share with you a very interesting episode that took place while we were on our way back to singapore; "how to share the gospel thru the rubic's cube!"
as we all know hokarming loves to play with that stupid thing. so marcus was fiddling with it then he had a thought, so he asked us:"what would you think are the odds of me solving the cube, without looking at it and thinking about it?"
the obvious answer would be the odds are like super uber low.
but by the grace of God i saw something a lil deeper: "even if you DO get it right by pure chance, you wont know it, and you'd still continue to spin the cube!"
and another point; how do you even start trying to solve the cube, if you dont have one in the first place?
so what does this lil microcosm illustrates this creation account?
when an aethiest claims that the world as we know it is cause by mere chance, that we're the one planet in our own solar system out of the many other systems in this universe that has life, he has very incredible odds stacked against him. even though he claims that he can have 5 million pple doing the exact same thing as above and that one of them would be bound to solve the cube one day;
that poor bugger wont even know he's done it.
thus we see that not only all the delicate-ly balanced conditions that we need to have life on earth is not only somehow created only by a Someone that thinks and bothers in the creation process (like hokarming wth his cube), and that more compellingly, these conditions are kept constant, so that you and i are, well, still here!
and yeah you cant solve it without having one in the first place. so we see that there needs to be Someone to start off something, if not it'd become 无中生有! yeah, this is the first cause argument.
food for thought for ya. =)
